The transformation of cement into cement mortar is an integral part of work in almost any construction direction. The resulting concrete composition is in demand for filling foundation bases, and rarer masses – for brickwork or sealing surface defects, for example, walls, floors and other floors. If you need to prepare a larger volume, for example, when the foundation of a significant area is being poured, then it is better to perform the entire process in a concrete mixer. In order to mix the cement mortar, you will need a set of substances and materials. This list includes:
- corresponding brand of cement;
- clean water;
- fillers mentioned earlier (sand, solid elements).

There are basic requirements for the contractor who prepares construction materials. The main list of rules is as follows:
- the container that is needed when mixing cement composition can be a metal or plastic container;
- the size of the container must correspond to the volume of the prepared mass;
- first, work with dry kneading (and before mixing the cement solution, you should sift the sand placer and astringent powder through a fine sieve, removing any large particles);
- then a cold, clean liquid is poured, and the composition itself is gradually mixed until the optimal consistency is obtained (if the proportions of the cement mortar and the rules for its creation were observed, the composition will be held on the spatula without draining from it).

We select the proportions of the cement solution
In addition to the exact amount of composition that you will have to work with, you should determine the proportions of mixing cement relative to the task being implemented. Let’s consider the proportions in which to mix cement for standard purposes.
- Plastering. In this case, a standard cement-sand combination of 1:3 is sufficient. the liquid should be as much as the binder powder. In indoor conditions, building materials of branded accessories from M100 to M200 are suitable, and in outdoor conditions-M300.
- Bricklaying. In this case, a proportional cement-sand relationship of 1 to 4 with the use of M400 binder powder and the addition of lime (0.2) is relevant.
- Floor screed. The same 1: 4, but with a decrease in the volume of liquid to 0.5. moreover, it should be filled gradually — this will create a rare composition that easily fills the entire treated area.
- Concrete. To create a high-quality base, it is best to use tart powder M500. The maximum level of strength for the maintenance of the house structure is gained by combining 1 part of the binder powder, 2 parts of the sand fraction and 4 parts of gravel with 0.5 parts of liquid.
