Laying electric underfloor heating on the wall is a rather non-standard solution. It justifies itself in cases where the wall needs to be insulated, but for some reason it is not possible to make a full-fledged classic insulation.
Tools:
- construction spatula;

Materials:
- Neomid mold remover-0.5 kg;
- drywall moisture resistant-thickness of 10 mm, area of 4mq;
- insulation self-adhesive penoflex-thickness 3 mm, area 2.5 x 1.5 m;
- heating mat Teplolyux mini MN 250-1, 8, heated area 1,8 mkv;
- masking tape;
- metallized scotch tape;
- Dowel nails 5 x 50;
- acrylic primer EK G200-5 l;
- tile adhesive EK 3000 – 25 kg.
Preparing the basics.
At the stage of preliminary preparation of the foundation, the following works are carried out::
- removal of existing coatings to the main wall material (concrete);
- alignment of wall abutment angles at 90 °;
- preventive antifungal treatment with Neomid.
Installation of the underfloor heating base.
Next, with the help of a construction knife, drywall sheets are cut to the required size. Fixing to the wall is performed by dowel nails. Since the walls of the bathroom are made of concrete slabs, you can attach the sheets close to the neighboring walls. The role of the compensation gap in the case is negligible and it is successfully played by cutting inaccuracies.
In the size of the scissors, the necessary cutting of the insulation is carried out. The advantage of the self-adhesive version is the convenience of operation. The protective film is separated from the adhesive layer and the drywall is pressed briefly to the surface. The joints of the insulation are glued with metallized tape.
Installation of underfloor heating
The selected brand of underfloor heating is very convenient to install, as it is a self-adhesive polymer mesh with a heating cable attached to it. The grid is distributed over the wall surface, the protection of the adhesive surface is removed and glued. The adhesive layer of the mat is not designed for fixing on vertical surfaces, so it is very desirable to carry out additional fixing with adhesive tape. According to the installation instructions, connections for connecting the sensor and power supply are prepared.
Finishing touches.
As the final finish, tiles are laid. The technology in this case will not differ from the usual gluing of ceramic tiles to the wall.
Enabling it.
After finishing the finishing works, it is necessary to connect the heating mat to the sensor-regulator and power supply.
The following requirements must be met in this case::
- connection is made via an automatic RCD;
- connection to protective earth;
- the sensor wiring and cable must be installed in the cable duct;
The regulator sensor must be installed outside the bathroom. If removal is not possible, the sensor must be installed in a moisture-proof housing.
